Herron
Versatility as DE/DT and how good he is, absolutely could.

quote:Bain for a big guy is ridiculously athletic, moves around really good for that size. You don't think he can?
Don't see it.

I'm 100% positive that Gilmore, Herron, and Beckwith will all see some legit action this year. More out of need than talent.

Why do posters on the recruiting board do this? It's as if you all forget about the studs from past recruiting classes.
Danielle Hunter and Rosco will be your ends with Ego and Freak on the interior.
Those four will be your starters, Freak has been the biggest d-line recruit we've had in years and he will be finally starting in his junior year.

We'll see who is the starter and who isn't. I say stuff like this or post because it's just talk which is what this board is about. But Miles has shown that he will play a player base on skill, talent rather than seniority. Out of all those guys you named only freak stands out, the others are suspect.

If freak didn't come in and start then Bain won't. Nothing against Bain but we are simply too big/deep/athletic on the DL for someone to just walk in with HS conditioning an start on our DL.
Yeah, I was thinking of someone completely different with that mingo Gilmore comparison.

They're suspect because they've all played behind 1st round NFL talent since they've been on campus?!
Wasn't trying to single anybody out. It's just that this board, every year, thinks half of the class will come in and pass up guys that've been in the program.
I think some underestimate the jump there is between high school football and SEC football. There are few that are ready.
I want to see these young guys play as much as y'all do but I don't like to see true freshman getting excessive playing time.

Understand what you are sayin, but believe me no one will get excessive playin time on the D Line, that's the one area you don't need to worry about the way guys are shuffled in and out.

Agreed, are any of those three you mentioned coming in the spring?
Posted on 1/6/13 at 7:04 pm to tucotiger
They have good size but they don't have the strength. It takes a very special kid to come in and start out of high school, but it's that time of year for people to jump off the rant and come in here and say things like this.

They're all awesome. Cant wait to see how they fare as freshmen.

It doesn't have to be a certain time, it's said all the time and no one is excluded! And btw a lot on here have said Gilmore could start right away, just not me.
