"Devastating," Mathieu said, tears flowing. "It's all I had. Football. And to think back on it, as I told you, for the BCS game, I abused myself. I took it out on myself. So many people were trying to help me. Coach Miles, he was basically like my LSU father. And our head trainer, Shelly (Mullenix), was like my mother at LSU. Those people did everything for me. All they wanted was for Tyrann to make a play. They just wanted me to show up. I prepared myself so hard in the spring and summer just to let everyone down."
here is the vid
full interview

That's good of him to say that.
The haters will twist it around, of course.
I give him credit for saying that. I wish him well.

If anyone watched the interview, that is impossible. Kidd was sincere and crying about it. No way to twist that. But I hear what you are saying.

I didn't see the interview.
I really do hope he turns his life around.

Thats why I posted it. Our fans are getting so damn bad, its embarrassing. I read on here that a lot of people think the players hate Miles. Wanted to put this on here. I'm sure there are some guys that are disgruntled about how their own career turned out, but I think most of the players really love Miles.

I applaud you for doing so. Sincerely.

Try to catch it or find on you tube.
He had much more contrition than I really thought he would. I feel horrible for him. (I explained why in my "dissertation" in the tread "TM7 interview" or something like that).
I wasn't hating on him before, but wow, his reaction was not what I expected. Better to see a video of it.

My respect for someone has rarely ever fallen faster, than what happened when Shep started tweeting and feeling sorry for himself.
Shep was/ is dealing with "real life" rather poorly. Failure will happen. Nothing happens easily or just as you would like it. Hope Shep gets over the bitterness.

TM7 saying that about Miles and Shelly the way he did speaks volumes of the program.
He's owning his mistakes and I will be looking for him on Sundays.
He was pure electricity on the field, hope he brings it with him to the next level.

You were not addicted to weed, you just chose to get high. If he was using heroin he could use the addicted excuse.
Anyways, I wish him the best of luck. I'll be rooting for him hard on sundays

We all make mistakes and handle stress in different ways. This young man appears to be growing up. It's going to be easy to slip again as there are many around who want him to fail.
I hope he pulls through and shines in the NFL. He has had a rough enough life without us beating on him too. His story is all to common and they usually don't end well.
A degree at some point would also serve him well since the NFL careers don't tend to last very long.

He was addicted to getting high.
Young people make mistakes. Hell, old people do. Wish the best for him, it's not often you watch a player on defense like people did TM. You just expected him to do something special.
Good luck to him. Hope he wants it more than he wants to get high.

Do you even understand addiction. Those addicted don't "choose" it. Addiction to things can be mental as well as physical. I've witnessed it.

Weed isn't physically addictive, but people still build a dependency on it.

People definitely build up a dependency to use marijuana. Just like people build up a dependency to drink liquor because they enjoy the feeling it gives them.
I'll never understand how so many people on this site and in the community built up this hatred for TM7. Did he screw up and throw his opportunity away at LSU? Yes. But, to go around making it sound like the dude went on a mass shooting or raped someone is beyond ridiculous when it comes to how some of you speak of him.

That was tough to watch.
Really, really sucks on so many levels we didn't get to see him play this year.

Yep
I'm an alcoholic, and the psychological addiction to getting drunk was stronger than the physical addiction to alcohol. You can be "addicted" to any kind of behavior that rewards you.
