Any chance we get our 2nd round pick this year forfeited for Bountygate back?

Or is that a lost cause?

That's what I'm thinking. Will be the 46th overall selection (with the teams tied at 7-9 rotating each round). I hate to lose that pick.

I hope and believe the fact that the Saints org and suspended coaches played nice and the Bowl is in NOLA will way in our favor.
Or Roger can continue to be a petty prick.

Seriously doubt it. Damn shame too Bc we could have picked up a Lavonte David last year

Sandusky has a better chance of keeping his anus virgin clean than the Saints do of getting their second rd pick back.

My feeling is the coaches and staff have been respectful in any comments they made. Vitt has been the most vocal, but I don't think he's ever said anything disparaging about Goodell. Whatever the bar was that Goodell set for getting the pick back (if there ever was; he's just been making shite up as he goes along) I think they've reached it. Goodell is a prideful prick, so frick no we ain't getting it back. The shite blew up in his face bad.

quote:My sentiments exactly. I just don't understand a punishment that punishes the fans by helping to ensure the Saints put an inferior product on the field. This makes no sense to me at all.

I took a break from the site for a while. I decided to take the Blueslover approach and avoid the reg season postings due to the world's-on-fire assholes that inundate us with their inane drivel on an unfortunately regular basis. plus I was so frustrated with everything this year that I lost interest a bit. This season was me following my teams (Saints, Steelers, Denver, LSU, ND) and nothing more, and even that was with less passion than in any time in the past. Even my fantasy team was irrelivent to me!
Don't worry, I still was at every game until the clock sturck zero
I'm now re-energized with this Goodell-made shite-Storm finally about to pass, and I feel myself getting fully engaged again.

The condition was that we would have it back if everyone abide by the punishment, which they did. So it would be wrong if we didn't get it back but based on Goodell's track record he doesn't really do what is right

Okay I just read this so I'm not sure anymore

quote:
"The Saints could get it back in terms of getting back a second-round draft choice," Wyche said," but it will come at the expense of some draft picks at the other end. … Let's say the Saints do not have a good season and they have a high second-round draft pick. The league could say, 'Okay, you can petition for that pick, we'll give it back to you, but it will come at the expense of a third and sixth-round pick.'

I'd take that

And goodell has a history of handing down penalties and later reducing them(Vick, roethlisberger). They deserved every bit of their punishments and goodell let them back early. But the most draconian, egregious, and unprecedented punishment ever for something that has been about 98% debunked and that prick won't give an inch. In a roundabout way, it speaks volumes that goodell knows he overstepped but he's digging in in hopes people will buy his bullshite ala roger Clemens.
