Come on man. I don't necessarily think we have to trash a pro style system but there's so much more that can be done with it. There's no creativity except a minor thing like the pass to Dickson during the game.

The OL is terrible with their technique and need a full time OL coach. The OL has the size, strength and speed. They deserve better coaching. It is time to shake things up and allow a real OC to produce. By the way, I'm a huge CLM fan! LSU is stacked, need to take the next step towards domination!!

Assessing who or what is to blame for the last few years on offense isn't easy...though for many on here the answers seem simplistic.

I don't particularly like watching a pro style offense in CFB...but I AM sold that it is a scheme that can be the most consistent winner if you can recruit the horses to maintain it...which CLM obviously can.

What my true take is, and it's just going to sound like an excuse to a lot of people, is we have been a victim of not having a good QB. In any offense you have to have a good trigger man to be effective.

I like to use Texas and Alabama to illustrate my point. Both of those teams have elite recruiting classes every year and both have similar offensive philosphies...though Bama is more run oriented and TX more pass heavy. But point being, with pretty much equal talent at every position, Bama has gotten lucky the last few years at QB with Mclroy and McCarron, and Texas hasn't had good QB play since Colt McCoy. What else would account for such a difference in W/L records with no talent disparity to speak of?

Now lots of people will say that it isn't "luck" that Bama has recruited good QB's and TX hasn't. Just as they will tell you that it is the fault of CLM and staff that we have struggled at QB.

But any coach will tell you that projecting a QB is the hardest position to get right. The guys that TX recruited were highly rated and wanted by everyone...but they didn't pan out.

Ultimately it is the responsibilty of the coach to evaluate and choose the right guy...CLM and Mack Brown have failed at their last few tries...it happens.

So if you want to blame CLM for not being good at choosing or developing a QB, you'll get no argument from me, but I do believe it is a hit or miss deal and that eventually the odds will swing our way and it will be Bama that has a little less fortune.
