MVSU Coached by former LSU player Chico Potts. Potts was a marginal at best player on Brady's first team, a JUCO transfer to fill the roster. We played them earlier this year.
Painfull to watch as are most games I've seen Trent coach.

TCU saved LSU basketball. Can't thank them enough

i bet they run basically 1 half court set, some sort of shuffle cut and if it isnt there, just settle for the longest possible jumpshot available.

TJ's system is pretty simple. That's O.K. if you can get the horses in the barn. He proved he could not here.

Still amazes me how he could only get to the Sweet 16 with both of the Lopez twins and Landry Fields

I defended him as long as I could because I always want my coaches and my teams to succeed.
But the best I could say for him was that he was an average at best bench coach. He IMHO was a below average talent evaluator and I could never understand his recruiting strategy.
He always seemed to be holding spots for folks down the line and down the line just never got here.

I'm honestly still pissed that we got that 8 seed back in 08. We should've at least been a 5 or 6 seed and we were freaking stacked.

I will admit that Trent came here when the state was dry with talent. That being said it was still inexcusable to miss on the best players in the state at the time

I thought a 7-seed was reasonable but I didn't expect a 5 or 6. A 7 would have avoided UNC in the second round.
But the SEC was so weak that year as was our OOC schedule. A slightly better OOC slate would have helped there.

It's not so much the guys he missed on as the guys he got who couldn't play. Too many. That's where my questioning of his talent evaluation abilities come from.
There were some guys that went to Sun Belt schools that would have crawled here who were better than some of the guys he gave schollies to.

That's a shot for shot remake of what I saw today

I think I saw where Valley held Syracuse to 57 last night? Would expect them to score more than that. Valley may have a decent squad this year.

It's not Trent's coaching that bothers me,
he did beat Butler in NCAA tourney and gave UNC all they wanted
It was his choice of asst coaches and recruiting

Oh, I agree to an extent nicholas. Like I said, simple is great, I would even say preferable, if you have the horses.
He didn't and his assistants were certainly part of the reason for that.
But I can count on one hand the times I thought Trent out-coached someone and most of those were Rick Stansbury.
