I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. It wasn't as epic as LOTR, but honestly I think it might be more entertaining. Bilbo the character is significantly more interesting than Frodo IMHO, and I greatly prefer the actor to Elijah Wood.

8.5/10

I wasn't expecting it to be LOTR and I enjoyed some of the detail it went into that I kind of wish LOTR would have had the time to do. Bottom line is that I'm always down for a return to Middle Earth and this definitely fit the bill.

I liked it. I thought the orc fight/escape scene could have been cut about 5 minutes shorter, but that's just me being critical.

I've never cared what the critics thought. I see movies based on what I think of the trailer and my knowledge of the source material if there is any.
