I forgot all about that channel

But Roots is one of the greatest mini series ever.

I forced my wife and my kid to watch it recently on dvd. I've always thought it was something every American should watch. Watching it again decades after it originally aired, it did seem really "old" with poor production value. I'd actually like to see a remake so the current generation could experience it with decent production value.

There really is some great acting throughout...

From Ed Asner, Vic Morrow, Chuck Conners, Rex Reed....

Sidenote: There were some beautiful women in it as well.
