Limbaugh was fired because he was already polarizing. He was already pigeon-holed as a "certain person" by the liberal media. He had un-PC baggage.
If any other regular joe white commentator had said what Limbaugh said, he wouldn't have been fired. Controversy is good for ratings...but Limbaugh was too controversial because of his history.
bullshite. He called out the media (which ESPN is a part of) for trying to being too eager to celebrate a black quarterback and jumping the gun on McNab by praising him for being a much better quarterback than he was. Nothing Limbaugh said was racist, and it wasn't a knock against any black athlete anywhere - it was, however, a knock against the media for trying to create a story that didn't exist.

Was Limbaugh incorrect in his assessment after its all been said and done?

McNabb at that point in his career had been to three straight NFC title games and one year after this idiot was fired advanced to the Super Bowl. Limbaugh was dead wrong about McNabb and ESPN was showing love to a player who was on fire more than anyone else in the game at that time.
