Why you be laughing at me??
Oh. I didn't mean it that way. I just found the statement funny, not a criticism at all. I'm very glad you got to enjoy the game.

You control a cutesy girl, so you'll probably get looks, but it is very good (and addicting!) so I don't really care.

Well shite, most have been interested in knowing what my Vita was (or sleeping) so I figure I should sack up and just have fun.

Do I need to play the prequel first?

Oh lord, prolonged awkwardness.

You don't have to, but they share characters. Meruru is actually third in the Arland trilogy. That said, if you did want to play the prequel, I would just do Totori (already on PSN, second in series), because it's way better than the first.

I want to start playing some Final Fantasy games on my Vita. I know each game is not a sequel, but should I play them in order? Or should I skip some?

Very few have related in story and if they are, they're under the same number (ex. Final Fantasy 7 and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7)

PS Vita
Someone give me the run down on this. Is it worth the buy?

I enjoy mine a lot. There are some good games Gravity Rush, Uncharted, P4G, Assassin's Creed, LBP, Killzone, Tearaway, etc. With more on the way. If your getting a PS4 it makes a great accessory and there is a rumor a bundle vita/PS4 will be revealed.

Biggest questions are, what type games do you like playing and what is your primary reason for having a handheld?
I could also throw in the question on whether or not you will be buying a PS4 since it will have integration to that.

It uses a memory card right? I would mainly be using it to run movies & tv shows on flights and such. I do like the games also

My last handheld gaming device was the old PSP. I'm into FPS and racing games mostly.

It does use memory cards. 32 is the biggest right now and they are about to drop prices on them thank god.
If you fly a lot then this is an awesome device to have. I fly all the time and it is my go to entertainment device. If you have playstation plus then you will have many games to play for "free" right from the start, so I highly recommend that.

Currently Resistance is the main FPS game, but Killzone: Mercenaries comes out September 10 and it looks amazing. Racing game wise there is Need for Speed Most Wanted, Asphalt Injection, Ridge Racer, Wipeout, and Sonic Racing.

Didn't they drop the price of the Vita by like $100? Definitely in my price range now, as far as handhelds go. Thanks for the info guys

I'm biased as hell cuz the day they announced this I told myself I would get it, but this is probably my favorite non-PC thing to game on. I've put a lot of hours into this thing.
FPS wise there isn't all that much to chose from. I've played Resistance and it was average but it had a decent enough campaign, but the MP kinda sucked. Only 3 or so maps and everyone uses that crossbow/shotgun thingy. CoD is suppose to be utter shite but I hear it has a survival mode so it can't be all that bad. Killzone Mercs, which is coming out, is going to be pretty badass. I'd say it could cover ya if you have a craving for a MP FPS. No clue on the story, but I bet it will be pretty good.
Racing wise I'm clueless lol. I think a lot of the early racers (Ridge Racer and that asphalt game.) were pretty much made just to cash in on racing fans. Need For Speed Most Wanted is suppose to be a port of the one on consoles, but with some tweaking to get it working on the Vita. It's open world so it sounds really sweet, I plan to pick it up.
There are also a shitload of other good games too. Persona 4, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Gravity Rush, etc are all worth a buy.

What series is better between Y's and Valhalla Knights? Are they similar in game play?
I have never played either series, but I think I like the looks of Ys better than Valhalla Knights.

They're pretty different.
Ys is an action RPG with very fast paced action and a continuous storyline, where you control Adol. It's been around since the 80s and has a lot of history. This one is a remake of the 4th game in the series. It's also pretty famous for its boss fights. They're a ton of fun and very satisfying.

Valhalla Knight isn't as good, but not a bad game. It's more a traditional RPG with big parties (up to 8 people I think), classes, and progression. The gameplay is definitely action oriented, but it's not as skill based as an action game. You can play through the game co-op with friends, so it has that going for it. I'd definitely pick Ys over it though.

Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland is not pulling up in Playstation Network. Looks like I may have to get it from gamestop online.
