Our set up is very similar (mine is the FDE one above). The YHM rifle rail is heavy as hell.

To answer the question on the upper: Are you planning on building it yourself? Buying fully assembled? Do you plan on going with a fixed front sight?

Building an upper is not difficult, you just need to buy a few extra tools.

It is heavy (19.87oz) but I'm no crazed nut about cutting weight down. It is where I can cut weight down the easiest and most. I like the MI Gen2 SS-Series One Piece Free Float Handguard. It is 9 ounces lighter and thinner in diameter in design.
