Brownell's has some stripped lowers available for pre-order that should be shipping some time in the next few weeks.

eta: As soon as I figure out how to add an FFL I'll have one on order.

Forgive my ignorance, but what modifications, if any, are needed to fire 300 aac blk ammo?

300 BLK uses the same lower as an AR-4/15 but has a different upper.

Including the BCG, and barrel or just barrel? I'm getting conflicting answers.

I was quite surprised the first time I pulled the trigger on an M16 at the range in boot and heard/felt that. Assuming we're talking about the same thing.

Not sure about the BCG, but I'm pretty sure that the case for the 300 is the same width as the 5.56, so I think the BCG is the same, but don't take my word for it. Carson or Bapple or someone else could probably help you more than I can.

Wow. Thanks so much!
No problem. I've got my order placed, just waiting on a response to my email about how to add the FFL. Their phone was busy so I just emailed, but they could take a few days to get back to me with all the orders and questions Brownell's is getting lately.

I found that on a 3 Gun website, and it is on my want list. The guy that was pumping it said that not only did it get rid of that damn twang but it also reduced felt recoil for him.

Went by Prairieville and Seigan WalMarks today, no .223 at all.
Academy on Seigan has several boxes of Winchester RazorBack, but I'm not spending $30/box on it.

A friend called and asked me about a DPMS AR-15.
Cabelas shows it retails for $1399. They are out of stock, of course.
She can buy one new for $2k.
Good deal?
I don't know much about them...

Are they mid-range or low-end?

Nothing more than a barrel swap. It was designed from the ground up to do that.

Just order a chrome lined Noveske 300BLK barrel, put it on, and voila

Thanks, man.
She had just called when you replied.
She's going to a gun show tomorrow and will call if she finds something .

Yeah, I had just heard conflicting answers, some saying you needed a new upper entirely, some saying just a barrel. Wanted to check with people that I somewhat trust/believe.
Found a complete Sig 5.56 lower w/collapsible stock for $400, no better time to start building than now I guess.

just a barrel
But its easier to hit two pins and put a new upper in. It actually needs just the barrel and gas tube, but the barrels come with that anyway for the most part.
