This is their own damn fault for blocking the football side of things from getting better for years.
If they'd allowed the football side to expand years ago, they'd have gotten decent-good basketball schools like Memphis while possibly retaining Syracuse and Pitt.

Like who? Big East football was dying once Miami and VT left years before realignment went crazy.
