re: My feeder killed a squirrel

I've had a squirrel die in a feeder, but from a different reason. Squirrels had chewed a hole through the top of the plastic barrel, right below the top. They then were climbing in and eating the corn inside. We kept putting duct tape over the hole and they kept chewing through that too.
However, they got a little too greedy, as they ate more corn and as the feeder spun corn every day, the corn pile got lower and lower. Until one day, the hole was too high for one of them to jump back out (I would have though they could have jumped that high, but evidently this one couldn't). We didn't notice until the feeder started stinking of death. Dumped the feeder over and "hey, rotting squirrel". Plus, the corn was ruined.
