Neophyte Looking For Best Platform For Younger Kids

So my gaming days were primarily in the Atari 2600 days, with some brief forays in the Nintendo and Commodore 64 days. I have a Wii, which I enjoyed at times, but it just collects dust.
I had a six year old daughter who enjoys some games, and I'm thinking of getting a new system for Christmas. I'm kind of interested in movement oriented, which I think would be fun for kids (e.g., Move, Kinect). However, I'm at a loss as far as picking a system.
Any advice, help? Things like best graphics really would not make or break me since I would not likely be playing too much. I'm also not too price sensitive at the moment.
TIA.

With a 6 year old, go with the new WiiU. Not sure what the price will be this close to Christmas, or availability, but if you are looking for movement oriented games, that is the best one to pick.
There are a lot of really fun games for kids. There are also learning games for kids that old as well.
The kinect for Xbox is really fun. My little brother has one and there are some hilarious games for it. I can give recommendations for games as well if you'd like. The thing about PS3 and Xbox is that a new system is dropping soon (next holiday season). Not sure if that is a big deal though.
