Just call it statistics. You need more than a half a year sample size for any real analysis. Not to mention team line-ups vary blah blah blah.
Basically what I'm saying is it's really hard to compare athletes with just numbers. I'd say it's foolish to do so.

That's the basis of all sports. In baseball its all about homeruns, era, rbi's.
Basketball it's about PPG, rebounds, assist to turnover ratio
Football its ypc, td. passing yards per game, qb rating, sacks.
Stats may be slightly misleading but they generally paint a good picture.
Now of course this topic is up for debate on who thinks who is the best, but the numbers are clear evidence that he is one of the best if not the best.
I'm also gonna update the OP with a highlight video if anyone is interested.
