Wing is a virtual lock to leave. He does not exactly love school, and the league already knows how good he is despite a relative off year (which was still pretty damn good by anyone else's standards--finished #8 nationally in net punting, despite losing his snapper and two stud gunners). He is unlikely to improve his stock by coming back; as a punter he kind of is what he is already. May as well start earning that paper ASAP. I have seen where some scout said he might go as high as 3rd-4th round.

Thank you!!!

So many ignorant statements earlier in this thread. Wing had a bad year??? Really, look at the numbers. He hit about 3-4 bad punts all year. He didn't have as many punts downed inside the 5 yard line this year because the gunners couldn't get down the field quick enough to stop the ball.

Wing is uber-talented with what he can do punting the football. He does more than just kick it as far as he can each kick. He can angle kick, he can kick it high and short, he can boom it when backed up deep in his own territory. He's very good at kicking the ball to a place where the returner can't make a play on the ball.

If the dude doesn't like going to class, might as well start getting paid in the NFL.

The only knock on Wing is that he is not a KO specialist in addition to great punter. His has great skill in terms of putting the ball where he wants, but I can't see him being drafted as high as Morestead w/ Saints. Wing just is not the weapon Morestead is for an NFL team.

That being said IMO the point of college is to get you into the proper career path. If Wing really can't improve his draft stock and he wants to be an NFL player then he should go now to the draft.
