No. TNP are a side project. A Canadian "supergroup" if you will. Dan Bejar's Destroyer also predates TNP. And AC Newman is a songwriting genius. I love Neko, but I wish she'd let Newman write for her more. He's better at it.

Her solo stuff is more country and folk than rock. Though Middle Cyclone is closer to her New Porno stuff than any of her earlier albums. But yeah, her own stuff tends to have a slower pace and while Neko has a great voice, I think Newman makes better use of it in his songs.
All for Swinging You Around is a near perfect pop song, and its not even in the top of most people's Neko TNP songs.
