Let them have their moment. It is just a matter of strange timing, and they can't help it.
They joined the SEC in a year when Arkansas imploded due to its coach's personal behavior. Auburn's hiring of the incomeptent Gene Chizik was truly exposed. And A&M struck gold with Sumlin and Manziel.

They caught Alabama coming off of the game against LSU, and held on for dear life and a win. That was their one upset win in conference. Otherwise they lost at home to LSU and Florida, the only teams they were not favored to beat.

They deserve to crow given the reception they were given by fans of other SEC schools who had seasons worse than A&M's. And it won't stop until matters have been resolved on the field. The problem is that A&M is better positioned to sustain its success than Arkansas and Auburn are to correct their deficiencies. So SEC bragging rights might come down to how well Ole Miss and Mississippi State perform the next couple of years.

They had expectations of a Missouri like year, but they did so much better. Maintaining it when you have a target on your back isn't that easy.

Texas A&M is a sleeping giant living in a state with tremendous amount of high school football talent.

They remind me of LSU in 2001. Saban got us to over perform and then built up LSU's in-state recruiting program so we now keep 90 to 95 percent of our best talent.

Coming to the SEC and beating Bama this year, and playing all the SEC powers to a virtual stand still will pay dividends with their in-state recruiting.

The Aggies are for real and the SEC West now has Bama and LSU with the most talent, but A&M and Auburn are not far behind.

I expect A&M to start challanging Texas on an even basis for the lion share of Texas talent. When that happens, look out!

For whatever reason, Texas hasn't been interested in their football program enough to go out and get the best coaching talent money can bye. That may change if A&M starts out-recruiting the Longhorns in-state. Right now, the Aggies have a better coach than Texas.
