Gomes is a bad deal, but they seem to think his power will translate well to Fenway. He's another guy who hasn't really gotten a chance to play full time.

That's because he can't hit righties....
Over past 3 seasons 682 AB vs RH .220 avg, .302 OBP, .390 Slugg where as he is above avg against LH .296, .398, .506 in 419 AB.
