A 31 year old who hasn't played a full season and a 33 year old guy who regressed last year.... That has more to do with it than length. If both were a couple years younger fine but I doubt either magically finds fountain of youth. Although I do believe Napoli hits 30-35 home runs in Fenway

31 and 33 is old now? These dudes are in their prime. 1 bad season at this age isnt a trend.
So what's the deal.. is 30-35 HRs not worth $13 million a year for 3 years?
And Victorino fell off compared to his career year the year before. He really didn't fall off much considering he had no one else in the Phillies lineup to help him out. He is a gold glove OF, never hurt, and is known as one of the best clubhouse guys in the league.
Don't let your bias get to you. The Yanks pay like $45 mil a SEASON for CC and Teix. Another $16 mil for Jeter. Bad contracts, yes? Can't wait to see how you spin Mike Young's $16 million into a positive![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/iconpopcorn.gif)
