Holland.
Won't be the closer. Kelvin Herrera will be.
I've read somewhere that no one wants AJ Pierzynski bc he's likely to be suspended for PEDs. Not sure if it's true or not.
Also, I may be in the minority, but I like what Boston is doing. Those short contracts aren't going to kill them. Napoli and Victorino are good clubhouse guys. They just need to add some pitching, and they have the resources to do it.

Have you lost your damn mind?

Holland, who will turn 27 on November 20, made 67 appearances for the Royals, finishing 7-4 with a 2.96 ERA, 16 saves and 91 strikeouts in 67.0 innings. The North Carolina native overcame early season struggles and a stint on the disabled list by posting a 2.08 ERA over his final 60 outings. He recorded 16 saves in 18 chances after taking over the closer’s role on July 31, including 13 straight conversions from August 1 to September 9. Holland finished third among American League relievers in strikeouts, trailing teammate Tim Collins (93) and Steve Delabar, who notched 92 with Seattle and Toronto. The 91 strikeouts rank sixth in single-season franchise history among relievers. Holland held opponents to two home runs over 67.0 innings for a ratio of 0.27 per nine innings, second-best in the American League among pitchers who threw at least 65.0 innings. He became the first Kansas City reliever with seven or more wins in a season since 2000.

Lineup will be solid: Ells, Pedroia, Ortiz, Victorino, Napoli, Middlebrooks, Salty, and Gomes. I think Gomes will be a nice bat in Fenway. Check out his home run chart
Few holes defensively with Salty, Napoli, and what they'll likely end up with in LF (Gomes?), but the rest are all above average in the field.
Their SP is an entirely different story: Lester, Buchholz, Doubront (nice back end guy). There just isn't much else there. Can't imagine they want to try the Bard conversion again. Pen is good: Bailey, Bard, Aceves, Miller

This. I feel like everyone is just towing the company line and ripping them. I really like it. Napoli and Victorino are really damn good ballplayers. 3 for $39 MM contracts will not kill them. They are made of money, why should they sit there and suck dick? Of course, they will need better pitching to be a top team, but I like their lineup.
When you are wealthy, you do not need to break it down and start all over like a mid-market club. There are multiple ways to rebuild.
I think Napoli will mash in Fenway. He takes walks and has elite power and can spray the ball. One of my favorite hitters in baseball. I think he could upwards of 35-40 bombs and an OPS that is around .900 if he gets a full season of plate appearances.
Baloo, Napoli is not that fat. He is definitely somewhat of a three-outcome hitter, but baseball-reference lists him at 6' and 215 pounds. He wears a jersey like eight sizes too large.
