I am thinking they got bigger fish to fry and if they write you up for that, they were really looking for something else........or just a young agent trying to make a name for himself.

This is a true story. Back in 1976-77 I was visiting my mom/stepfather right on the Ohio River
in Indiana...small town Patriot, was 12 miles away as I recall and this was winter...frigid cold and my Florida cracker azz was freezing.Any way, a friend I made in the big town of Madison (35 miles away) worked in sporting goods store and we were in his El Camino driving abck to my moms place...river was frozen over solid..we saw a small group people standing by the riversedge and they seem to be trying to get something from the water...the local sheriff in Switzerland County was there also...we stopped and saw a young buck caught in cracked ice 10 feet from shore...he had been superficially been shot with an arrow across the river in Kentucky and he tried to escape over the frozen ice to Indiana and almost made it. We got some rope and lassoed the young buck and pulled him to shore...the sheriff asked if we're going to take care of it and I said yeah...he was frozen and we decided to put him in the El Camino (only a two seater mind you) with the heater full blast...he was calm and relaxed because at least he was out of frozen water and not gonna drown. We drove with him sitting between us for 15 miles to my buddys farm and put him in barn...he was released two days later.
BTW the sheriff was an odd person...he had a badly scarred face and one eye...but Switzerland County, I was told, is the least populated county in Indiana.

Under the new rules, feral hogs may be trapped year-round. Persons who use snares to capture feral hogs must have a valid Louisiana trapping license. Persons who use cage or corral traps must have a valid Louisiana hunting license. It is required that all cage or corral traps have an opening in the top that measures 22 inches by 22 inches or larger or 25 inches in diameter or larger. The required opening in the top of hog traps will allow black bears that are inadvertently captured in a hog trap to escape. Persons setting hog traps without the required opening are subject to citation and seizure of the trap.
