Orly? I have called Brees out on his last two games repeatedly on this board. I did it earlier in this thread even. But some criticism and saying the guy isnt elite are not the same thing. And this season he is still a league leader in most categories. Maybe he is throwing INTs on purpose just so he can lead that category too. I dont know man. I just dont know. He is still elite, he is still a top 3 QB, he isnt a shell, he isnt in a decline, he is a future HOF, and also, all of this:
Statistically speaking, no one in NFL history has ever:
been more accurate in season,
had more yards in a season,
had more 5000yrd passing seasons,
had more completions in a season,
had more consecutive 400+completion seasons,
had more consecutive seasons with over 4000yrds and over 30 tds,
had more games with over 5 passind tds,
had more games with more than 5tds and no ints,
had a better career completion percentage,
had more seasons with 70% completion rate,
had more games with more than 80% pass completion rate and no interceptions in a career,
had more games with 250+ yards passing in a season,
had more consecutive 400+ yard passing games
had more games with 350+ yards passingin a career or season
He also has both the highest post season completion percentage and lowest post season interception percentage in a career, highest passing yard per game in the post season in a career, most passing yards and attempts without an interception in a playoff game, most consecutive pass attempts without an interception during the playoffs
He was the first NFL QB ever to have multiple 5000 yrd seasons, multiple seasons over 70%, and is the only one to do either

Sorry, Breesus.
Those are just stats.
The eye test says he's aging poorly.

stats don't win gams brah, even though our best teams tend to have the best stats

quote:He hasn't played himself into the conversation of elite quarterbacks this season. However, I've said it before and I'll say it again; there were extenuating circumstances surrounding the entire Saints organization. I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump back to that normal, elite level again next year. He's going to need better offensive line and defensive play if that is going to happen, though. The Saints put far too much pressure on his shoulders.
But some criticism and saying the guy isnt elite
