Again, sometimes good luck sometimes bad. We got lucky in 2003 and 2007, but since then not so much.

Actually in 04 we also got spanked by uga, should have lost to uf and ole miss. Saban was lucky to make crap one bowl that year with his foot already out the door.

04 had all those same players. In fact jmarc rode the bench minus a few plays here and there.

Since we are playing this game. Had it not been for one of the craziest days in college football history, les would have zero national championships.
You can say much the same thing about Alabama this year, when two teams ahead of them lost.

Only argument i have is we still had to go out and win the sec championship in 07. Bama sat at home. I actualy belive if we lost uga, we werent playing for a title. We had everything to lose.

no you can't. they aren't 7th in the bcs standings going into the sec championship like lsu was in 2007.

We won the sec championship, bama didnt. Which is why bama isnt int he ship yet, there is still one more game to play. yet everyone seems to forget that. They arent sitting at home this year while other teams have a chance to lose.

yall had a free stab at an sec title while still playing in national title. thats about as lucky as it gets ever.

It bothers me that some folks think the 07 title was somehow less than it is, that it is not woth as much somehow.
We were the team with the next best record by all the criteria in place. At least we didn't have to manipulate the system as Bama did last year.

Wait what? which season are you talking about?
Cus that describes 11. And beating everyone you played isnt luck.
I think we were in both times because we won the seccg. Could you imagine the shite storm if LSU and Bama both played for a title yet neither were sec champs.

Agreed, I posted on this topic before the start of last season, discussing how the Miles/Saban battle in the national championship would define their respective careers going forth.
Miles winning more than Saban did at LSU.
Miles winning one against Saban.
LSU getting three crystal balls first, just like they did getting two before anyone else.
Etc, etc.
I think we see the negativity regardless of opponent, but the level is at an all time high due to Bama's historical dominance over us and the fact that they are, in terms of talent and productivity, our only real rival now, with the possibility of Florida getting in the conversation as well.

Does that mean we cant count all the flukey things that have caused us to win games? Or how about miss and w va losing to let us in the champ game?

Gimme a break. LSU had to lobby to get bumped ahead of 4-5 other teams.

Won the SEC - check
Curb Stomped Va Tech earlier that year - check
Teams in front lost and Va Tech moved up - check
We jump Va Tech - check
How did LSU lobby again?

lobbying makes no difference. Its all about winning the crystal by any legal means necessary. bottom line. LSU HAS BEEN EXTREMELY LUCKY and SO HAS ALABAMA...and so HAS 97% of national champions ever. thats what they are hard to get and everyone doesnt have one. we just happen to have 14 of them.

Beating Auburn would've made the UGA loss not matter one bit in SEC standings when you're 10-1, jackass.
