W was an abomination. Not just the writing. The directing was lifetime movie of the week bad.
I thought the exact same thing when watching that film in that it felt exactly like a Lifetime movie. I just think that Oliver Stone is a highly overrated director.

He got older and increasingly ran out of creative juices. The same can be said of Scorsese, who makes much better films than Stone now, but they're not comparable to the quality of the films he made in his heyday.

He's made 1, maybe 2, good movies.

Huge understatement.
Platoon was a masterpiece, but everything else.....

JFK
Born on the Fourth of July
Natural Born Killers
Wall Street
Talk Radio
Salvador
Yeah, nothing else good.

JFK and Born were ok.
Natural Born Killers was terrible. If he wouldn'tve butchered Tarantino's script, it would have had a chance.
Wall Street is pretty good, that's the one I was forgetting.
Haven't seen Talk Radio or Salvador.

JFK is purely fictional but it's entertaining as hell with phenomenal editing. NBK is one of those love it or hate it movies that I liked more with each viewing.

He lost it. It happens. There have been steeper declines. Seen sn M. Night film lately? George Lucas. Bogdonovich.

Are the two I haven't seen worth a watch?

He's made a couple of really complete films. When he's good he's good, when he's bad he's very bad.

Absolutely. They aren't masterpieces and they're two of his lesser known films but far more compelling than anything he's put out lately.
