Except match the offer. What do you think Texas would offer that Bama wouldn't match? $8M? Matched in a nanosecond. $10M? Matched with two phone calls. Texas isn't going to offer some outlandish number just because they "can".

I've said it before and I'll say it again, don't confuse your stereotypical views of the state of Alabama's economic condition with the economic condition of Alabama's football program and its boosters.

I agree they would probably match. I think the draw would be the larger media market that Texas has. In general, there is more money/exposure in going to Texas. Not saying Bama doesn't get a lot of media love too, it's just a different national market. Also, add in the fact that he could build the program back to dominance and he wouldn't have to play in the SEC. It would be relative smooth sailing to go to a BCS bowl and only face SEC opponents there.
