Pick your number that you want to pay for the truck. Walk into the dealership with that in fives in a bag. Those guys will see that money and do just about anything to get it. Research ahead of time and get the deal you want.
If they won't do it for the cash in the bag walk. This is ballsy but works.

Well I will have to negotiate my trade in but its a older model GM truck so I am pretty sure they are all going to give me the same amount for it. I may have to use the $ in the bag trick.

What if your number is higher than what the dealership was actually willing to come down to? Then you just paid too much.
Never give a number first.
