The QB competition at LSU will be insane once Mett leaves.
This statement would make me laugh it it weren't becoming so tragic. We haven't had solid consistent qb play for years, yet I keep hearing about all of these studs on the bench, year after year, that will save us "next year."

Exactly. I think he would have been better off staying here, myself, but I enjoy the fact that he's sitting on the bench and will be unless something happens to the current QB. I have a want for revenge
Yea, his career is clearly over. Just ask Matt Cassel...

The way that he and his family went about the recruiting process (LSU and Indiana) was without class. I don't wish him the worst but if things don't work out for him at ND... he has only himself and his family to blame.

Just because people are stupid enough to give millions to someone to play qb in the NFL, doesn't mean that that person is great qb. Good for the individual, I guess you could call that success. Jim Marcus Russell comes to mind, but the list is pretty long.

So is a Ponzi scheme.

I'm also not arguing that he is a great QB. But individual success is success.

It makes for good sports bar beer debates, but what type of business sense does it make to give long term guaranteed contracts to people with such barren resumes. Cassel started 0 games in college, had a string of a few good games "managing" a Super Bowl caliber team, then gets his financial future assured. Pretty much like Jeremy Lin just got huge bucks for a partial season of above average work. I know it's the entertainment bidness, I just find some of the decisions these people make mind boggling.

Gunner Kiel is a twerp. He committed early to LSU and in the process cost us a top rated lineman and maybe another quarterback. Then the coward did not even have the stones to call the LSU coaching staff to tell them that he wasn't coming.
Kiel is well on his way to being a highly recruited loser. He should sue his parents for being such horrible role models.
Edited for spelling.
This is pretty harsh considering he is just a kid. I'm sure you would have handled everything perfectly.
Cut him some slack.
Coward, Twerp, Loser, Parents Horrible roles models .... gimme a break.
You're damn right I would have handled things differently.
My son wanted to quit his high school soccer team because he did not like the coach and his grades sucked. I told him in no uncertain terms that he could not do it. I said it would have been unfair to his coach, teammates and the guys who had been cut from the team.
I have a "thing" about honesty and commitment. I guess you view parenting from a different perspective.
