Let's be honest, there are plenty of delusional LSU fans as well. Several worship Miles as if he were infallible. No names are needed.

Let me add that I don't think Saban is anything more than a good football coach. I'm not worried about his "good name" and shite like that because he wasn't hired to be a nice guy. He wins fricking ballgames. College football is a business and it is win or get the frick out.

Saban has done a bunch of good with the Nicks Kids thing and has rebuilt a bunch of houses in Tuscaloosa after the storm. Good for him. None of that will mean shite if he isn't winning.

Gene Chizik, by all accounts, was a fantastic guy. He cared about people and was nice. That didn't stop the door from slamming on his arse...and anyone who is a fan of a SEC school who doesn't think the same thing would happen to their "nice guy" coach is full of shite.

The fact that you have to come to the Rant to defend him tells us everything we need to know about you.

Personally I think his hypocrisy is funny but not gonna make me mad. In 50 years when college football is settled with a playoff, everyone will look back at the so-called "BCS Championships" with the same degree of skepticism that we currently look at AP championships.

I'm in agreement with you here. CFB coaches aren't paid millions of dollars to be role models or insightful moralists. They are paid to win champiionships.

Three things are clear: (1) Saban's statement makes him a hypocrite; (2) His hypocrisy is clearly born of a selfish desire to see an outcome which benefits him and the school he currently coaches; and (3) No one gives a sh*t about his hypocrisy except for a bunch of transparently envious LSU fans who are still mad that Saban allegedly scorned them.

What I can't stand is the certainty that, if the situations were reversed, all of the same posters here would be defending Saban, because he would be LSU's coach.
