Golf pro has an excellent point. At what point and time will Les Miles realize that he can't use Running Back A to run the ball inside, Running Back B to run the ball outside, Formation A to run the football, Formation B to pass the ball.
Last year, LSU was just so absurdly better than everybody that we did whatever we wanted and they couldn't stop us. Every other year since 2009 we run into a brick wall because other teams know based off our personnel and formation exactly what we are going to do.
If y'all really what to know what the biggest reason for our passing game success over the last 4 games was, it was that we actually started running more routes. It doesn't take much film work for a good defense to figure out that starting with Auburn and ending with South Carolina, LSU's passing game consisted of about 3 routes. Quick slants, 10 yard outs, and the occasional sluggo. I do realize that the receivers catching the ball actually helped out tremedously, but we also started running more passing routes and our receivers were able to get some separation from the defenders.

Thank you. No clue why it took us this long to do this but the improvement in the passing game was immediate and abundant.
