Not to sidetrack this post, but what caliber would you think would be the best not counting .44 mag?

I think this is a good minimum for aggressive bear. But I wouldn't put black bear in the aggressive category. I think one shot from any handgun or rifle and they're gonna cower and leave you alone.

Once I have a .357, that will be what I take in the woods. Until then, my 9mms, 40, or 45 will have to do.
