The fumble was the right call. The ref called the play dead, but hadn't yet blown his whistle. It was really quick. Either way, forward progress HAD stopped. Play over. End of the story.

The punt still has me wondering. In my opinion, had he fair caught, it was the right call. If his arm didn't go up, it should have been where he landed on his arse. I'm no official, though. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express, either.

I am a HS official..and have been for 9 years. The punt "forward progress" looked bad. Momentum is ONLY a case when it deals with a touchback or safety. Spot where he landed should have been the succeeding spot where the next play should have put in play. I was like WTH? when I saw that. Not a case for forward progress ruling.

As far as the strip..I just think the wing official was slow on the whistle as he had his hand up signaling the ball was dead. Poor mechanics, but right call.
