Of course we will need JOB and the rest of the team. Didn't see anything in my post that said we wouldn't. How about this scenario. We play a team with good post players. JOB, Eddie, Courtney, and Coleman all pick up two or more fouls by two thirds of the way through the first half. Everyone says that it is an unbreakable rule that they have to be benched so they don't pick up a third.

Who do you play now for the last third of the half? Can't happen? I hope it doesn't but it is within the realm of possibility. Del Piero doesn't have to have great ability. At his size all he has to do is stand in the lane and wave his arms around and he will be an obstacle they have to deal with.

Tom, if Hickey, Carmouche, Morgan, Stringer, Hammink, and Coleman each get 2 fouls 2/3 the way thru the first half what do we do? Play the walkons? The answer is no. You play smart. Obviously that rule isn't unbreakable. I hate the fact that so many people act like it is (including Trent Johnson), because you can get far enough behind that it doesn't matter if they foul out...

Honestly, I see 0 possible events happening where Del Pierro plays significant minutes outside of garbage time. 0%.

We would go a lineup of:

Hickey
Stringer
Carmouche
Morgan
Hammink

before going to Del Pierro in the first half in my honest opinion.

edit: No knock to Andrew. I think he deserved the scholarship for what he has given to this team the past 3 years, but I do not think that warrents playing time, when the game is in a questionable state, even in the most extreme cases .

Nothing official from what I've seen, but CJJ says it is unlikely.
