It does. I am dont see why you would want to discharge it without the magazine in though. Not real fimailiar with this feature.

The only real benefit a magazine safety has is if you are in law enforcement and it is your duty weapon. Envision this scenario:

You're about to ticket someone who is just a bit too pissed off that day. He hits you and you have no time to grab your weapon before he is on you. He goes for your duty weapon. What can you do to disable it? Drop the magazine out.

-This was actually the original reason it was invented.

But if you're carrying concealed the person doesn't know you are armed and the chances of you getting into a melee battle for your weapon is greatly diminished. If you accidentally pop out the magazine, why would you want your gun disabled? Me personally, I would rather be able to put at least one round in the guy to get him away from me.

But hey, different strokes for different folks. You already have a huge leg-up over 95% of the rest of the population that doesn't carry. Good for you getting a CHL!

EDIT: Another reason it's on this particular handgun is to make the gun socialist-state legal. This is one of few handguns on the approved list for CA, CT, etc. If it has the word "safety" in the title, all the nut cases think, "hey, that sounds like it'll make it 'safer'" and so the terrible logic continues.

Makes sense. I will have to see about getting it removed/disabled.
Can you recommend a good holster. I got a good pocket but the one I got for inside the waist isn't all that. I am 6' 195 and a 32" waist so not very big and the one I have shows pretty good. I have a month until my class so I'm in no hurry though.
