Diane Keaton in the Godfathers.
Terrible acting, total sourpuss, doesn't fit the mood of the pictures, doesn't match...and she completely sucks and battles Talia Shire in the contest of women trying to neuter men.
Almost ruined the movies for me...was hoping she would blow up in the car or go for a boat ride.
I actually blame Coppola and Puzo for that one. As great as they are at writing male characters, they are terrible at writing female characters. It's not an accident that the worst film of the Godfather trilogy (Godfather Part III) focused more on the female characters than the first two films did combined. Keaton is a great actress. She's proven her acting ability in Woody Allen films. She just didn't have much to work with in The Godfather. Meryl Streep or Katharine Hepburn in her prime wouldn't have fared much better in that role.

Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line. Could've found a better fit for Johnny Cash than that over-rated, hair-lipped bastard.
