I would be curious about the actual attendance. There is now way either game has had over 10,000 in the stands.
Your curiosity has not rendered you the chance to research these things, or use your brain I see. It's all in the first post

Well that's ironic since you're too busy being a smartass to read correctly. He said IN THE STANDS, not tickets sold.
As for that, 10k in the seats looks really sparse, I would believe it was around 13k in the seats for the games so far.

Buncha nega-hornets bullshite in this thread.
I don't care if you personally didn't care about LSU/Bama.. most people around Louisiana did, and if you offered me hornets tickets compared to watch LSU on tv I wouldn't even pretend to go.
Halloween isn't a matter of choice, a lot of people have kids, you can't ditch your kids or make them give up halloween to go watch a basketball game

If you're going to come at me, please come at me with the correct facts my man. Thank you. The stats of attendance, is ATTENDANCE jack arse, and not tickets sold. Didn't want to insult you but, you needed it.

I've seen figures used of both, actually. If those are butts in the seats than nevermind.

Lots of reason and knowledge in the thread. It started without that.
That's progress.
Hat's off to TD readers from a man that is as grumpy as they come (except for VOR and his precious lawn).

Pretty sure that those figures are tickets sold... unless the Bulls have every single seat filled every single game last year. LINK
More info here abour 'sell-out' streaks being based on tickets distributed and not actual attendance. LINK
And FWIW I was at the game Friday night and Alabama/LSU on Saturday.

Tough call . . . attendance threads or kids on the lawn . . . which is more annoying?

Read the article on this Nets - Bucks game from 2010 in which the recap states there were less than 1000 fans in attendance. Then click on the box score when the attendance is listed at 12,000+. LINK
Keep burying your head in the sand about the Hornets attendance.

Kids in attendance?...

Could be the economy? How much are tickets by the way?

Attendance in the box score is the sim of tickets sold and tickets comped that are used.
The butts in seat number is always less.
So what?
Again, people obsessed with this: why you care? Unless.you are curious or informed, you are just trying to start trouble and will be dealt with accordingly.
as far as heads in the sand go, I've written about attendance will be below expectation and the organization is not in a great financial position at the moment. So there is no burying here.
So, retort.

Man I would love for the Arena to be packed. It kills me to see all the lower bowl seats empty game after game. I'm not obsessed but people talking about 14000+ being in attendance are living in a dream.
I hope it gets better as the wins keep piling up.

Answer a question for me . . . honestly. How long have you been attending Hornets games and how many have you attended? There's a purpose to the question.

This lower bowl thing is interesting.
The main prop for this team that is missing is not `attendance' but corporate support. Sterm says there's need to be media support (local tv deal), government support (tax breaks, etc.), and corporate support.
We have 2 of the 3 . . . the first two. The TV deal is fine, midpack, all things considered. Government support here is killer.
The latter has been and issue back to the Jazz days. Seriously.
Those blub seats aren't for consumers. They are for businesses, etc. The Hornets have been the worst in the NBA at this component of things. All those I'm In events . . . they had some just for professionals and businesses. It got better, but not terribly so.
That right there, along with any succession issues, will present the challenges for this team for the next 5 years. Sign it.

Agree. But the interesting thing is that it seems that many of those seats are sold, but they simply aren't used. Now when the team is hot and/or it gets later in the season, that changes. As an aside, I still maintain the season is too long for most people and the "general population" doesn't pay as much attention until after the first of the year. That impacts smaller markets because of raw numbers.

In other words, I assume you mean new ownership's (after the passing of Benson) intentions.
