re: How Close Is the Offense to Being Really Good?

I am of the opinion that Mett is best suited to throw deeper passes versus shorter routes. He is not the most accurate passer but throws a nice deep ball and is normally pretty good at putting the ball where it is hard for the defender to intercept (on deep balls but not so much on shorter routes). I think this is what is missing from our offense.
This is important for 2 reasons IMO: (1) improve our offense by allowing our QB to play to his strengths and (2) stretch the field vertically so that it is harder for defenses to pack the box which should lead to a more effective running game against a defense the caliber of Alabama.
