Way to take two extremes. Nobody likes defenseless shoot-outs and nobody likes offense-less scrums.
There is a difference between great defensive struggle and what occurred in that 9-6 game. That was two teams afraid to lose and everyone who isn't a fan of either team saw it that way. Running up the gut on every play with the occasional screen or a safe flare pass out of the backfield isn't exciting and doesn't demand the '85 Bears to stop.
