One major difference last season between game 1 and 2 was AJ was dead on the money with his passes in game 2. Those outside shoulder passes along the sidelines are damn near indefensible.

As a cursory view, I see severely limiting AJ's offensive effect/playtime a strong defensive priority this go around.

Blake Sims, dual threat. He's been relatively successful, though it has been in garbage time. We run a read-option with him in the game, and it's been surprisingly effective. He hasn't had to throw it yet, but I'm sure it could be seen against LSU. He actually appeared in meaningful time against Tennessee, so I assume we are bringing him in to give defenses something else to think about.

But if AJ does down and Sims has to come in, every crimson butthole will be tight.

I think this had to do with much softer coverage in game 2. In game 1 we were all about stopping TR which we did - even on the outlet passes.

Lacy hasn't been much of a threat to anyone this season surprisingly enough so it'll be interesting to see what our plan is for UA in 2 weeks.

Is the OP advocating purposely taking out AJ as a good strategy for LSU to use?
