This is a legitimate concern. Our anemic offense doesn't allow us to put opponents away until the final minutes, so our backup QBs don't get any meaningful playing time.

It's more than that. I still go back to the North Texas game, and Mett getting crushed. The way we rushed to get him back on the field gave me a big "uh-oh"; as it looked like the coaches had no intention of letting anyone else play. Now, is that because Mett needs all the work he can get, or because the next best guy is clearly much worse?

Getting Mett more experience is needed, sure. But if you can't bear to let Rivers (or Bolden, or Randall) even run a few series against North Texas, toss the ball some, then things are a little scary in the depth chart.

Being afraid of losing Mettenberger mentally if he sits a series, if that's the reason (and I honestly don't know if it is or not), then that's bad too.
