I could go on, but I know we're comparing two different sized guns here (pocket .380 vs IWB 9mm).
The Shield is really just that good.

If you want a truck gun and don't plan to CC it, I would just get a full sized M&P or the M&P compact. They have double stack mags and hold more ammo.
The main selling point of the Shield is the niche that it fills - concealed carry. The single stack magazine is very comfortable. But for a truck gun, you may as well get a full sized.
Or hell, get a .357 and call it done. S&W 686 or Ruger GP100
