Mystery Time Out

Early in the 3rd quarter, Carolina had a receiver get into the end zone; a touchdown indicated by the side judge, only to be overturned because the trailing official saw the receiver step out on the 3 yard line. When Carolina lined up on the 3, do you think Miles called time out because he thought Carolina was going to go for 2 or do you think he wanted the play reviewed? By what I saw, Miles was in the face of the official because he did not realize the indicated touchdown was not a touchdown and he wanted a review of the play. The game will be replayed on "the U" Monday night. Look for that and see what you think.

I think he wanted the play reviewed.

In all fairness to miles so did everybody in 408.

both.
he thought they were lining up for two after a td so he wanted to call timeout for a review.

It wasn't real clear what was going on watching on tv either.

This is a rare time that I'm gonna take up for Miles because I thought they got it and were lining up for 2. What confused me is that they left the score up on the scoreboard while lining up, as though it was good to go.

Aren't all touchdowns reviewed in the booth? Maybe that's why it was brought back after a touchdown was signaled on the field. I think the refs didn't do a good enough job of explaining what was going on and there was definite confusion by Miles. Possibly thinking it was a 2 point attempt as the OP stated.

He called a timeout because it very easily could have been a touchback. The ball came loose and went out of the endzone. Would have been LSU ball at the 20.

It was crazy - the refs signaled a TD and did not once stop and and indicate otherwise. No way should LSU been given their TO. Those refs were sucking spurriers cocks all night. At one time they were in The huddle with the USCe defense when we were debating on going for a tD or kicking the field goal - are they allowed to huddle with the with any team! It was so fricking obvious they were bias

danielson even commented that SC was hurrying to get the ball snapped.

this. Thet never indicatd is wasnt a TD and we should not have been charged a TO becuase we thought it was a TD...

Refs signaled TD and points were put on the board. At the game, it was unclear what was going on. Were they going for two or still trying for td?

No one in our section had any idea what had happened either. The announcer didn't know what happened either.

Are you 12?

Horrible job by the refs. The ref should have gotten on his mic and clarified the call since it was signaled a TD. I forget that ref's name, but I've always thought he was the worst in the SEC. Wish Steve Shaw was still on the field.

This. Ruling on the field is a TD. Play is under review or runner stepped out or was down at the three or whatever

One of the side judges overruled and said he stepped out. I was really hoping sc would have kicked the "extra point" anD ended up with a fieldgoal instead. That would have been awesome!

Les didn't know what was going on. It was a wasted timeout.
Shaw was on the field. It was obvious the call was changed if you were paying attention.
