Last night we saw the football team we have expected to see all year long.

Physically controlled the line of scrimmage on offense and defense, controlled the clock with an outstanding running game and passed just enough to keep other defense honest. If we can just learn to finish drives, there is no telling what we can do. Kudos to the offensive line and to "The Chief".

Those boys had the want last night

they were much improved but honestly I expected to see a team this year that scores much more touchdowns inside the 5 yard line. we need to expand the Spencer Ware package down there and do something like OU does with Bell. we clearly are too predictable and stubborn down there. that is the difference between losing a close game and winning by 10-14

the only thing we are missing at this point is a vertical passing game and the ability to finish more consistently.

If we move the ball like we did tonight and get 7 when we have first and goal we dont need to rely much on a vertical passing game. Mett has shown that he is capable of those throws when needed and when he has time but if our offense works like its designed to we won't have the need to call on him to make those plays very regularly.
Aside from our continued struggles in the red zone I was very impressed by the positive strides the offense made since last week.

I think the vertical plays were there a couple of times last night and Mett missed them. threw one high to Beckham on the sideline that was still catchable but a tough one. Also on the 3rd and long play when SC blitzed the house, that play would have been a TD to Landry but Clowney dropped back from his rush and batted it down. there was no safety in the middle and it was a deep in and Landry was 8 yards inside the corner...
Just need to start hitting 1-2 of those a game and it will back off the defense bait.

I saw a better team vs Washington, but I'll take it

We have got to improve on red zone O. It almost seems like Coach Miles somehow thinks 3>6.
