Met AD's Parents Last Night

His dad walked up to us after the game in the Capital One bar area and asked if we always dress like this . Knew it was him right away, they got a lot of tv time towards end of AD's career at Kentucky. We sat and talked for a bit with them about the city (had to explain my shirt to his mom), but AD never came out. They even honked and waved at us while we were walking to our cars afterwards too. Wonder if they'll adopt me? Extremely humble and awesome people, and their son seems to be just like them (from interviews I've seen).
Edit: Guy had 2 bags full of Hornets stuff (jerseys) from the Hornets store. I'm sure he could have gotten any of that stuff for free, so thought it was cool he'd go and buy it.

His mom was probably cheering for Charlotte.

They said they saw me walking around with it earlier and wanted to see what it said. Just had to explain about the bridges connecting East/West Bank being called "The Crescent City Connection" and I'm sure they picked up the relation of his eyebrows connecting, didn't go into that

I'm 6'2, so I'm guessing he's 6'6ish? He's not 6'11 or anything like that and I don't think his mom is overly tall either.

His dad actually said something about Charlotte, but didn't really hear it, so don't quote me on it. I think it might have been "at least he's not playing in Charlotte" and he gave a funny look over at his wife.

I chatted with them at the introduction press conference a little a while back, and they were super cool. I just talked to them about food. No real extended interaction, but they seemed easy going, humble, and open to New Orleans. I had them hankering for bread pudding. I think bread pudding, etc. can be a much better ambassador than any of us schmucks.
ETA: your story is eay better than mine, and I think you are a better ambassador than most bread pudding.

Thanks for sharing. I could tell from interviews I've seen with his parents that they are very nice people. It's good to hear a first-hand account.

I never got the chance to meet them personally in Lexington but always heard they were good people. Not like some of the other cray cray parents we've had in the past.

If we're talking White Chocolate Bread Pudding....I don't stand a chance against that.

None of us do. Not by a damned sight.
Moment of silence . . . (runs out with the dessert)
