I do believe the key offensive stat for Les has been TOP. This equates to his successes on defense as well.......last weekend that stat line suffered and so went the Tigers.

Many get caught up in the measuring stick but miss the forest for the trees where Les' philosophy is concerned.

Flame away monkeys.

I say lets run the old Texas Tech or new WVU offense if we are going to go 3 and out every possession. How is the D going to be on the field more then it already is?

Yea Les has been the master and savior of our defense.

You're a tool.

Hey Charles.

I do agree that when we win the TOP we are successful. Teams that control the TOP have 2 things in common. They can run the ball all day and convert 3rd downs. But why didnt we win the TOP vs UF? We were running against 9 men in the box so they stuffed it all day long. And we were what 1 of 13 on 3rd downs?

It is no coincidence that the two greatest Superbowl defenses--the 1985 Bears and 2000 Ravens--had solid running games. The combination of a solid defense, and a solid grind-it-out offense that burns game minutes and allows the defense to rest is he perfect storm for a guy like Chavis. This is not rocket science.

Up unitl the last 2 games of last season, this is what we did. In most of our games--especially at the end of the season--LSU rushed for more than 200/game yards in 2011. I think the only game that we ran for less than 100 yards is the only game we lost.

If we can run the ball effectively, we can beat anybody.
