Literally everyone has it wrong. The band doesn't care about the morality of children hearing the cheers. We don't care of the students do the cheers- you just can't do it to the songs. The SEC has rules against a band leading a vulgar cheer. If the students want to scream STTDB, go ahead- just not while the band is playing. The second something vulgar gets put to a song, we're not ALLOWED to play it because the school will be fined. Chant whatever you want, just not while we're playing. Those songs would still be played if people could keep their mouths shut for the duration of the song. Of course, the only reason anyone wants to hear Neck is so that they can yell STTDB

So how does Million Dollar Band play Rammer Jammer? I'm guessing "hell" isn't considered vulgar.

All of this. I hate that we can't play Neck anymore. Neck was instant momentum. All we had to do was play Neck after a defensive stop or after a bad play, and suddenly our fans and team were fired up and ready to take the game over. However, the students were idiotic and immature and made a decision that lead to the removal of a key weapon in LSU's arsenal, the ability to manufacture momentum out of thin air (something almost no other team has).

Why couldn't they chant obscenities when the band played crap like Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and Gungnam Style (I know it's coming)? No, they had to destroy LSU's secret weapon, and it will be gone forever. I firmly believe that had the band been allowed to play "Neck" during the National Title game at key times, it may have been just the spark to lift us to victory.
