It doesn't even matter 75% of the time. It's just like arguing bullets.

I think I hunted for 3 years before I got my first doe on the last day of bow season. Then a 2 year dry spell and another doe on the first day of bow season last year. Still looking for my first buck.
ETA: Drew back on and missed more than I would ever care to admit.

I didn't get serious about bowhunting until 2007. In 09 I killed a doe for my first bow kill. I've killed a couple of smaller bucks,(100" or so),4 more doe, and 4 hogs since. Once you finally break the ice it seems to get much easier.

Bow hunted since the late 80's till late 90's
Stopped for about 10 years. Started back in 2008?
Never killed a deer w any weapon.
Have no idea why I keep trying at all, much less w a recurve.
You'd think I'd resort to using a howitzer for maximum damage.
On the bright side, I fricking catch fish!!!!!

Do you not gun hunt at all?
Posted on 10/9/12 at 12:58 pm to Fap-n-Nap
I have lots of guns. No place I hunt w them.
Matter of fact, I have the following guns I have not shot yet:
Savage 30.06 w Simmons scope
Mossberg 930 w slug barrel n scope
Savage .17HMR w cabelas scope
RRA AR-15 .223
Might be another one in there. I can't keep up.
I might need help.

Never killed a deer, been on two bow hunts, never even got to draw back.
I have slain bowfishing though.

If the heads are used more than once, it requires a little more personal responsibility to make sure that mechanical is functioning like new.

i don't know about the rage, but on my Spitfires, I just pull the hair out, wash blood and dirt out of channels, feel of it, see if it hit a rock, and recock..

I mainly just like to argue and try to prove that my way of thinking is the right way. hell i may not even be right. I just enjoy seeing if i can convince someone to think like me without them using their own experiences as a guide... unomsayin?
I shoot resharpenable fixed blade btw.

Yes there is.

I don't reuse my heads, I spend to much time and money on this hobby to have to worry if I am going to have an issue when the moment of truth comes. Its probably a little extreme but thats just me.
But I also don't shoot a lot of animals each season so a new pack each year is plenty for me, and I usually have 1 or 2 left over.

I'm not a mechanical hater, I've shot both spitfires and meat seekers. With that said, there have been instances where Rages failed to open, broke blades on impact with ribs, opened at release, opened in the quiver, etc. these are variables that, for the most part, don't exist with a fixed head.
