Man, that stinks that you were put on this situation. I don't think there is really anything you can do.
My parents are not good tippers. They are just old school and rarely eat out. I always had to add a little to the tip and I didn't mind if they saw me do it either.
These days, they just give me the receipt to fill in tip and total for them.
