@Jon Morosi Why did I pick Hamilton to Braves? They have payroll flexibility, could backload deal after '13, may miss McCann to start season

There's a lot of reasons this doesn't make any sense, namely that it would be a serious financial commitment to yet another left-hand bat and a guy about to be on the wrong side of his prime.

Signing Hamilton would be a tremendous mistake for this team, considering our financial restrictions.

What type of package do you guys think it would take to get Jupton?

Would something like Delgado + O'Flaherty + Pastornicky + OF prospect do it?

That gives them at least 2 big league pitching talents, and a serviceable utility option (they have a hole at SS).

You also have to factor in our shitty ownership and the fact that Atlanta has quite a lively club/bar scene. Hamilton is an overgrown 6 year old. He has to be babysat 24/7. A lot of that has to come from ownership that has a personal stake in the team and is willing to go out of its way to help him. The chances of him tanking completely for a franchise like ours are very high.
