I think on a ball that high, you can consider it a routine infield play, but you can also not consider it just as easily, which makes it a weird play in general. I really do see both sides of this one. It's a difficult call.

any time an INF has to run that far back it's not routine. That's just my opinion.

It kind of defeats the purpose of the rule. He is too deep to even cause any funny trouble with a dropped ball for a double play.

shite you can even argue that had a fast runner been on 3rd, he could have tagged up and scored on that ball, esp with the SS going back to catch it. It was that deep
